Day 1 – Friday 21st December 2018

Guests are collected from Sunshine Coast Airport, Nambour Railway Station or arrive by car where you can relax and settle into your rooms. Your room has everything you require; TV, clock, radio, tea/ coffee making facilities, air-con, fans, fridge, queen size beds, single beds and ensuite. Motel units are located on the ground floor, single units (share bathroom) and ocean view rooms are located upstairs. Meals are served in our restaurant – continental breakfast with something delicious added every day – evening meals are a two course set menu. All meals and desserts are home made. The motel has spacious grounds, scenic views, salt water swimming pool and guest laundry. We take pride in our motel and like our guests to feel at home, so come and have the holiday of your life.

Day 2 – Saturday 22nd December 2018

A look around our beautiful area, firstly a visit to the Flaxton Barn, filled with antiques, nick-nacks and memorabilia – something for everyone. From there we head along the range and stop at a lookout offering spectacular views of the Sunshine Coast. Onwards to Maleny to see this quaint little town with yummy coffee shops and bakeries. The Christmas Tree Festival opens in Maleny today from 10am to 8pm. The afternoon will be spent having lunch and sight-seeing in Montville, the arts and crafts capital of Queensland. Montville is a unique village of unusual architecture with wonderfully interesting shops, cafes and restaurant.

Day 3 – Sunday 23rd December 2018

Today we board the bus and head to Amamoor, which is nestled in the centre of the Mary Valley, where we board the Mary Valley Rattler at 11am. Experience travelling back in history to a time when everything was slower. Step aboard one of the meticulously restored carriages pulled by a Diesel/Electric Locomotive, and travel along the tracks that have been brought back to life. Sit back, relax and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Mary Valley. Your journey will make a stop in the small town of Dagun, home to a beautiful heritage station. It is then onwards to the historic Gympie Station where you will have plenty of time to explore the station which houses a historical display sharing stories of the Mary Valley Railway Line and its people. The Platform 1 Café caters for all tastes for lunch. You can also buy a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to enjoy on your journey back to Amamoor aboard the train. We arrive back at Amamoor at 3pm and head back to the Country Lodge.

Day 4 – Monday 24th December 2018

Firstly we visit the Yandina Ginger Factory, the largest in the world, located in the historic town of Yandina. Taste the ginger, ride the Ginger Train (own expense), explore all the many interesting shops, or just enjoy the natural beauty of the tropical gardens. Next door, sample for FREE the many macadamia nut products from the Nut Works. Into Maroochydore for lunch at the Sunshine Plaza (shop till you drop) or relax with a change of pace lunch by the seaside in Cottontree. After lunch we go to Buderim to have a look at this beautiful area and the very unique Manawee Nursery which offers not just plants, but sculptured settings to give you some ideas to take back home for your own garden.

Day 5 – Tuesday 25th December 2018

TODAY IS CHRISTMAS DAY, A DAY TO ENJOY EATING DRINKING AND LAUGHING. We start the day with a champagne or orange juice breakfast while popping our Bon Bons. After breakfast we relax until mid-morning. At 11am our bus will take you in to the beautiful town of Buderim and the Buderim Tavern where you will enjoy a Christmas Day Feast including beer, wine and soft drink. You will be ferried back to the Country Lodge for a relaxing afternoon by the pool and that well earned rest. A special Christmas dinner will be served to your room at 6pm.

Day 6 – Wednesday 26th December 2018

We start our day with a visit to the Eumundi Markets. This is an interesting place filled with lots of different stalls and live entertainment where you will find hidden treasures for everyone. Maybe you would like to explore the historical main street and learn about Eumundi’s history. We then head into Noosa. Great views as we drive along the Noosa waterfront into the famous and very cosmopolitan Hasting Street. Time for lunch in Hasting Street with many choices including a food court or relaxed meal at the Surf Club, with its scenic ocean views. A delightful drive home along the coastal road.

Day 7 – Thursday 27th December 2018

Our last day, and we take a leisurely drive to Mapleton Falls. Enjoy a scenic view overlooking the Obi Obi Valley with its flowing waterfalls (weather permitting). A truly serene experience and a lovely finish to your holiday.
